About the Photographer

Kurt is a professional photographer with a degree in photography from Dakota County Technical College. His love for photography started at the age of 5 when he received his first camera, a Fisher-Price 110 film camera. What began as a passion and hobby slowly turned into something he couldn’t imagine living without. At the heart of his work is a passion for wildlife and nature photography and a commitment to capturing the quiet beauty and intricate details of the natural world. Whether waiting patiently for the perfect light or observing wildlife in its natural habitat, Kurt approaches each image with respect, curiosity, and a sense of wonder. This love for nature informs all aspects of his photography.

Kurt shares his passion of photography by teaching community education photography classes. Here he helps aspiring photographers of all skill levels build confidence behind the camera while building technical knowledge, and discovering their own artistic voice. He specializes in senior portraits, creating personalized sessions that reflect each student’s individuality while often incorporating natural settings and authentic outdoor backdrops. With a warm, approachable style, he believes the best photographs happen when people feel comfortable, seen, and celebrated. As a freelance event photographer, including coverage of the Twin Cities Marathon, Kurt brings the same attentive eye for meaningful, unscripted moments. Through every session, class, and outdoor adventure, he is dedicated to sharing a passion for photography and inspiring others to see and protect the beauty of the world around them.
